Attention Seniors: New Graduation Requirement for Class of 2022

Graduating Seniors and Parents – Did You Know?

New Requirement to Graduate for Class of 2022

This year, for the first time, seniors are required to either complete or sign a form opting out of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) in order to graduate.

Counselors can help students complete and submit the FAFSA online form at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.

TASFA is a paper application used to collect information to help determine eligibility for state financial aid programs for students classified as a Texas Resident who cannot apply for FAFSA.

If you do not want to complete a request for financial aid, click here to complete the required opt-out form, sign it and return to the counseling office. Click here to watch a video explaining the new requirement.
