Students, if you have a district issued iPad, you will NOT be issued a Chromebook until that iPad has been returned.

Reminder from our MISD Police department:  Students be sure to have a current parking pass displayed on your vehicle.  Teacher must also display a staff decal or placard on your vehicle.

Congratulations to the Legacy Bronco Marching Band for another great performance this past weekend. They performed at the Don Hanna Memorial Contest in Denton on Saturday where they ended up 2nd overall and 1st in 5A. This is the 3rd top 5 finish for the Legacy Band this year, which is already the most top 5 finishes since 2013! The Band is going to the UIL Region 5 Marching Contest October 12 and looking to advance to the area level so wish them good luck! Way to go Band!

Seniors, the MISD Day of Testing has been changed. Many of you are scheduled to take a college visit tomorrow, October 13th.  The new Day of Testing is now October 26th.  If you can move your college visit day to October 26th, please do so.  If you cannot, no worries. Your college visit tomorrow will be excused.  You will be expected to be present on campus October 26th if you do not have a college visit scheduled for that day. Tomorrow's college visit is only good for tomorrow. Please see any AP if you have any questions.

Legacy Theatre will present its Fall Show, The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni this weekend!  You can join us Thursday through Saturday at 7:00 and Sunday the 17th at 2:00 in the Legacy PAC.  The cost is $5 for Students and $7 for adults. Servant of Two Masters is a classic comedy, so come out and join us this weekend!"

Seniors: Don’t forget Thursday night is our 1st FAFSA Help Night at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts.  If you need assistance completing your FAFSA we can help.  Registration is required as seating is limited.  Please see the counseling office or Go Center for the flyer with more details!  Can’t go on the 13th?  Another help session is available next week! Plan to bring your Chromebook or personal device.

Attention Seniors, the MISD College Fair is scheduled for November 1st, 2021, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the MISD Performing Arts Center.  There will be over 100 Colleges to recruit you, help with financial aid / FAFSA support and answer other questions you might have.

It’s Woo-hoo Wednesday!  Shout out to Legacy Senior, Jade Blount.  Jade won a $1,500 through “HBU For Life”.  Scholarships were awarded based on essays, academics, and community service.  Only 7 scholarships were awarded to the over 800 people who registered.  Way to go, Jade!

Hooray again to the Legacy Bronco Marching Band for an outstanding performance yesterday at the UIL Region 5 Marching Band Contest. The band made straight 1’s making this their 13th consecutive sweepstakes award (every year since the school has opened). Way to go Band!

Congratulations to the Legacy tennis team for defeating South Hills 10-0 to become Bi-District Champions.  Let’s Go Broncos!!!

We want to wish the JV and Varsity Cross Country teams good luck   this week when they travel for the District Meet.  We know you will represent Bronco Nation well!

Oct. 13th:  Join us this week for Project Care! Each day we will raise awareness for the cancers that affect our world the most. Yesterday was dedicated to lung cancer, today is Lymphoma, Thursday is Leukemia, and Friday is PINK OUT! Make sure to deck out in your pink out gear on Friday to promote breast cancer awareness. Project Care shirts are on sale now in the StuCo store for only $12.00.

UIL Math Meeting next week, Wednesday, October 20 after school in W302.  Be sure to put it on your calendar and make plans to stay from 3:00 – 3:45

If you have basketball experience and are interested in trying out for the Legacy freshmen team, tryouts start next WED the 20th and you MUST have an updated physical to practice.   More details to come!  See Coach Jones in  W317 if interested for more info.

The GSA will be meeting in the Library Wednesday at 3:00pm.

There’s a new club at Legacy! Join the Asian Student Union to learn about different Asian cultures, discuss current events, and volunteer in projects serving the Asian community. Everyone is welcome and there will be snacks provided! If you are interested in joining, the first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 20th at 6:50 AM in Coach Keel’s Room R-202.
