Bronco Nation Update 1/21/2025

View Dr. Bonneau's Broncos In The Know newsletter from Friday, 1/17.

AP Exam Fees:

  • Fees related to AP Exams will be added to students’ Skyward fee management accounts starting the week of January 20. These fees must be paid by April 5, 2025 to avoid disqualifications from taking future AP courses. Additionally, all fees must be paid for seniors to be able to purchase Prom tickets and collect Graduation tickets in the coming months.
  • The fee for AP exams is $25/exam ($12 for those who qualify for free/reduced lunch). Students who dropped an AP course or opted out of an AP exam after the November ordering deadline will have their exam fee adjusted to a $40 unused exam fee – this fee is charged by College Board, not MISD. The ordering deadline for students currently taking AP Economics is in March.
  • Payments may be made online via Skyward with a credit card or paid with cash or check to the bookkeeper, Lisa Frampton beginning January 21. Please reach out to Mrs. Frampton if you have questions about making payments. If you have questions about AP exams, feel free to stop by the Academic Office.

Attention Seniors:

  • Seniors, join us for Grad Nite at Six Flags to celebrate the end of your last year at Legacy! We have limited space available for you to enjoy exclusive admission to the park from 6-12pm on May 9, dinner, transportation, and a souvenir item. Only graduating seniors from the DFW area will be able to attend, so the lines will be short! If you are interested, bring your $85 payment to the bookkeeper by Feb. 21.

Science National Honor Society is here to help!

  • Counselors are beginning to ask students to pick their courses for next year. Science National Honor Society is here to help! On Wednesday, February 5th, from 3-4pm in the library, we will be advising students on courses to take. Students will get PEER perspectives of courses and pathways to take for chosen college majors and careers. We specialize in science courses, but can help with any class! Attendance is HIGHLY encouraged.

Looking at Colleges?:

  • SCAD-Savannah College of Art and Design will be here on Friday, January 31st to share about their degree plans and general school information.  They will be in the cafeteria all 3 lunches.

Triangle:

  • Please come out to the Legacy PAC to watch the Theatre's production of Triangle. Shows are Thursday-Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2. Student tickets are $5 and Adults are $7.

Second Semester Advisory:

  • Advisory: Beginning in January, all students will have an Advisory class period. It will show as 9th block, but it will actually be from 10:35-10:55. This may be a teacher the student already has, but it may not be. Attendance will be take in Advisory. All students are required to attend Advisory. Students with afternoon Ben Barber will only attend Advisory on their NON-Ben Barber days. Students with morning Ben Barber should be IN advisory by 10:35 or they are tardy.

Lockers:

  • Historically, students have not wanted to have lockers issued to them on campus. With the changes in the building entry procedures, I believe more students may benefit from a locker on campus. If your student would like a locker for the 2nd semester, please complete THIS FORM.

Valentines Bundt Cakes:

  • Bronco Nation...do you want to send a sweet treat to someone? The Legacy Student Council will be selling bundtlets from Nothing Bundt Cakes. You will need to know the 2nd block Advisor and 3rd block class of the person you want it delivered to. They will be $7 for just the bundt cake or $9 for the bundt cake and a 4 inch plushie. Flyers will be posted around the school. Also, you can find the link to purchase in our bio on the StuCo IG page. If you have any questions, stop by EB101 and talk to Mr. Williams.

Track Tryouts:

  • Go to Room I-103 or S-210 and scan the QR code outside ethe door.  It's your one stop shop for all track and field info.
