Science National Honor Society Schedule Help

What to expect:
*Presentations on preparing for college and paying for college
*Mini College, Career and Military Fair
*Hands on help completing the FAFSA
*This is an event you don’t want to miss!

The FAFSA opened on December 31st. The state of Texas now requires seniors to complete the FAFSA, or formally opt out. If you are planning to attend college, you should complete the FAFSA. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for “free” money, many colleges require the FAFSA to be completed and use it when considering students for scholarships.  We have scheduled some evening help sessions at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts to assist with your FASFA! These sessions, at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts, are on on January 16th, January 25th, February 8th and February 20th. You will receive an e-mail to register for one of these evenings if you need help.  You can also get FASFA assistance at the Legacy Go Center.

The Bronco Academic Decathlon team competed this past weekend in Arlington at our Regional Meet. Despite illnesses, the team took home 5 medals! Chase Brantley won GOLD in both Math and Economics, BRONZE for his essay skills and SILVER over all other schools in the VARSITY division. Kate Castro took home the SILVER medal for the interview category in the HONORS division.
We are a class here at Legacy High School and have room for more students next year. Remember to sign up in the next few weeks while you are choosing your classes!
