Open House: LHS will host open house on Tuesday, 1/23, from 5:00pm-6:30pm.

Baseball Tryouts for the 2024 Baseball Season will be January 19th at 5pm, January 20th at 10am and January 22nd at 5pm. All students who would like to attend the tryout must have a current physical on file with the training staff and all of their rank one paperwork completed. There are sign up sheets outside of room S-215 and W-315. Please sign up before the tryout. Any questions can be emailed to Coach Mickles at KyleMickles@misdmail.org

Softball will be having tryouts at the softball field next Monday, Jan 15th, from 10a-3p and Tuesday after school till 5:30. If you are interested in trying out for softball you need to see coach Tiffee in R-205 by Wednesday before 3rd and 7th blocks. You must have all your online forms and a current physical to be able to tryout. Email TerryTiffee@misdmail.org with any questions.

Seniors: Are you attending PVAMU Fall 2024?  If you have been admitted to PVAMU, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and scored an 820 on the SAT or a 17 on the ACT you’re eligible!  See the counseling office for details and the application, because the deadline to apply is January 12, 2024.

The FAFSA opened on December 31st. The state of Texas now requires seniors to complete the FAFSA, or formally opt out. If you are planning to attend college, you should complete the FAFSA. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify for “free” money, many colleges require the FAFSA to be completed and use it when considering students for scholarships.  We have scheduled some evening help sessions at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts to assist with your FASFA! These sessions, at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts, are on on January 16th, January 25th, February 8th and February 20th. You will receive an e-mail to register for one of these evenings if you need help.  You can also get FASFA assistance at the Legacy Go Center.
