Senior Sophia Whittler competed in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the UIL 6A Academic State Championship at UT Austin and after two days of competition was declared the state champion. Sophia was required to debate both sides of the resolution, “Resolved: Standardized testing is detrimental to equity in K-12 education,” eventually winning the championship round on a 2-1 decision as the Affirmative debater.
