Daily Announcements for the Week of April 2, 2018

  • No bandanas may be worn on campus. Bandanas of any color are forbidden. Do not display bandanas in your hair, on your backpack, in your pocket, waistband, or anywhere on your person. Violators will receive d-hall or AC.
  • If you have not had a chance to go by the Art Gallery here at Legacy, you are missing out! The Gallery is right by the cafeteria, and the current show displays the work from our VASE artists, who competed a few weeks ago. We have some talented students here at Legacy, so make sure you congratulate those students whose art you see displayed!
  • Do you want to go to college but don’t know what you need to do to get there? The AVID Club will meet after school on Monday, April 2nd in Mrs. Roberts’ room, J-108. Come after school with your college questions and let us help you on your pathway from high school to college.
  • Speaking of college… University of Nebraska –Lincoln will be here on April 5th, during lunch to share information about their school.
  • The freshman class is beginning their Mixed Bag Designs fundraisers. Flyers will be passed out in Freshman classes and flyers are also available in the copy room and for each teacher mailbox. Please help the Freshman class raise funds for their Senior year.
  • Seniors - Prom Tickets are now on sale. You must have all outstanding balances paid before you can purchase your ticket. If you are bringing a date who is not a student at Legacy you MUST have your forms approved before purchasing your tickets. Prom tickets are available for purchase between the hours of 8:00 and 1:00 and 2:30 – 3:15. All fines must be paid in full for the Senior and their guest prior to purchase.

  • All Legacy baseball teams played Monday night. The Freshmen baseball team defeated Waxahachie by a score of 11 – 2. The Varsity defeated Waxahachie by a score of 4 – 2 to remain in first place in district. Good pitching performances from Nathan Rooney, Payton Cathey and Connor Binkley. Other players having big contributions were Jalen Catalon, David Vargas and Damian Munoz. The Broncos will be back in action on Friday.

  • Do you need something to do Tuesday night? We have something for you! Come see MISSION: IMPROVable! Legacy’s very own Improv Comedy Troupe! Tickets are $3 and the show starts at 7:00 in the PAC! See ya there!

  • ATTENTION SENIORS… You have one month left until you have to turn in your school-issued iPad. If you are no longer using it, go ahead and turn it in my Ms. Retchless starting today. You must turn in your iPad and all the accessories that were given to you in order to get your deposit back & to pick up your graduation tickets next month. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Retchless.

  • Please check the lost & found at the front reception desk for lost jackets, pants, gym clothes, shoes & glasses. All items will be donates if not claimed by April 13th.

  • STUDENTS – Class officer and Student Body Elections are coming up next week. We will be tweeting out videos of all the candidates – follow us @legacystuco

  • STUDENTS – BOLD WEEK SHIRTS GO ON SALE THURSDAY!!! All shirts are $10.00 and we will be selling through April 13th.  If you purchase a shirt you will get FREE ADMISSION into the Field Day we have planned on Friday, April 27th. This will get you a free pass out of 4th block to go outside and run the obstacle course, get wet on the slip and slide! Food trucks will be there for food and dessert!! This is an event you don’t want to miss!!!   Go by the STUCO store today and pick up an order form.

  • For those students who have tickets from the LUCK week pep rally -- we have popsicles again Thursday-- you can get them at the STUCO store.

  • Tuesday and Wednesday this week the Legacy Bands both earned Division I Sweepstakes awards at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Festival. This is the first time since 2010 that all the bands have earned sweepstakes. Great job band!

  • Students! Teachers! Staff! Everyone! Please join us on Tuesday, April 17 for the Westside Community Picnic here at Legacy! Bring your friends, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins to enjoy the food trucks, vendors, bounce house, and performances by numerous student groups! You will be able to admire works of art in the Westside Art Show! You can even make your own art in the Blue Tangerine Mobile Art RV! You can sign up to save lives by participating in the Carter Blood Care Blood Drive. To get on the list to donate blood, please contact Tiffany Smith at 214 554 4827. There’s lots to do, so come out and enjoy a fun time with friends and family! See you there!
