2018-19 AP Testing Fee and Opt-Out Info
We are now required to register for the AP exam, much earlier than in previous years. Because of this, we are changing our enrollment procedures. This year, if you are in an AP course on October 5th, we are going to auto‐enroll you to take the AP exam.
In addition, we are now charging $25 per AP exam, so in the next few days you will see those fees begin to populate on your Skyward account. This means you can start to pay those fees as soon as you see them on your account. We would like for exam fees to be paid by the end February. Please know that if you are on free or reduced lunch, your exam fee is $12 per AP exam.
There may be a few of you who are not wanting to take the AP exam for one or more courses. If that is you, the first thing you should do is speak with your teacher(s) and let him or her know and see if he or she supports your decision. If after speaking with your teacher, you would like to proceed with the opt‐out, please come by the Academic Associate Principal, Mrs. Madison's office, and pick up an AP Exam Opt‐Out Form for each test that you are wanting to opt‐out of. You will need to fill it out, complete with both your and a parent's or guardian's signature, then bring the form back to Mrs. Madison’s office no later than October 15th to complete the process.
Please realize, opting out of the exam only does exactly that. You are still responsible for completing all assignments, mock exams, and review activities that are required by every other student enrolled in the course. You will not be allowed to be a partial participant in the class.
