Daily Announcements for the Week of 10/10/17

  • Legends Café has now reopened in K103 near the nurses’ office.  They offer Starbucks coffee and are now open every day before school thru all lunches.
  • Legacy High School Athletic Leadership Council will be sponsoring a coat and jean drive for the month of October.  Please dig deep in your closets for any gently used items that someone else might benefit from this winter.  Items can be donated to Coach Lyday in T217 or to Coach Morris in PG112 by the competition gym.
  • All students who have 1st session Ben Barber classes are assigned an Advisory class here at Legacy starting at 10:30 AM each day. Students are expected to return immediately from Ben Barber and attend this Advisory Period. Students will be assessed consequences for skipping this class.
  • Interact Club will be meeting Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school.  Please plan on attending.
  • Congratulations to the Varsity girls’ golf team of Jenna Alvarado, Bailey Bednar, Kylee White, Mikayla Drennan and Lauren Nelson for their 2nd place finish at the Cleburne Invitational. Their 2 day total was 681. It was a great team effort by all 5 girls. Congratulations to Jenna Alvarado for a low score on day one with an 81 and Lauren Nelson for a 2nd day low score of 82
  • Interested in competing in UIL Academic Competition Oct 28th at Seguin High School? Sign up in Mr. Ritz’s room A-J114
  • Homecoming Court voting will be Thursday during all lunches in the StuCo room.  You must have your ID and electronic device to vote. Voting is open during all lunches and will close at 1:00 during C lunch.
  • Pink Out shirts are in.  Pick yours up today at the StuCo store during all lunches.
  • Mr. Perry and Mr. Villegas will compete against Timberview in a BBQ Showdown Friday before the football game.  Buy your ticket at the StuCo store to taste their BBQ and help them beat Timberview.  BBQ showdown & tailgate start at 6:00 in the Phoenix Academy parking lot across from RLA. 
  • Attention all potential men’s basketball players:  Bronco basketball will be hosting a tryout meeting in the JV Gym immediately after school this Friday Oct 13th.  This is for all boys who are interested in trying out for Bronco Basketball.  The Bronco Basketball coaches will be discussing important information regarding tryouts that will be held in early November.  Contact Coach Hudson or Coach McCloud for more details.  Thank you and GO BRONCOS!
  • Need help making a mum or garter for homecoming and want to save money?  Mrs. Pinkerton in the library can help.  She will be offering help during lunch and after school until 4:00 every day October 10th – October 19th.  You bring the flowers, ribbons, letters and trinkets, she will supply to staples, hot glue and expertise to help you make the best mum or garter you can imagine.  Stop by the library to see some of her previous creations!
  • Legacy Bowling Team needs 2 more girls to join the team to completely fill our roster. There’s still time - You can still “walk on” the team. Practices will begin October 10th (Tuesday) at Alley Cats at 5pm and will continue on October 12th (Thursday) at Alley Cats and at 5pm. Parents are always welcome to come and watch. Practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday at Alley Cats at 5pm for the next 5 weeks.

  • Students, the MISD police department wants you to be aware that Snapchat accounts are being hacked.  DO NOT click on a link that asks for your information and password. DO NOT share accounts or passwords with anyone.

  • If you are taking TCC classes during the spring 2018 semester, please go see the Legacy Counseling Center secretaries on your own time to pick up registration tickets.  Please read the instructions that are printed on your tickets. You will be using your TCC account to register for your spring classes.  You must complete this online registration process in order to be placed in your TCC classes.  If you have any questions after picking up your tickets, especially if you think there is a TCC class missing, please contact your counselor.

  • Seniors:  If you are interested in visiting the TCC connect campus in Fort Worth on November 3rd, please come sign up in the counseling office.  The field trip will be from 9-2 on Friday November 3rd.   Last day to sign up is Wednesday, October 25th. Please see Mrs. Julius in the counseling office if you have any questions.

  • Want something fun to do after the Homecoming game?  Student Council is sponsoring a Buffalo Wild Wings movie night.  Meal tickets are $10 and will include 8 boneless wings, popcorn and unlimited drinks!  Admission to the movie is free but donations are requested.  Buy your ticket in the StuCo store today.

  • Yearbook Photo Retakes will be Oct. 18 (next Wednesday) from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the PAC lobby. (Underclassmen only – the deadline for senior photos has passed)
  • If you missed photo day last month, this is your only chance to get your yearbook photo taken. If you need a retake, please bring your photo packet with you.

  • Are you interested in playing a card game tournament for games such as yu-gi-oh or pokemon?  If so, come to the library on Monday after school!  Beginning, Monday, Oct 16th we will begin playing a card game tournament every Monday during Library Extended Hours.  Please come on Monday so that we can decide which game will be the first we will play.

  • Next week is Homecoming!  Here are the dress-up days for the week:

Wednesday: home field advantage...jersey day
